24 Things I've Learnt in 24 Years

24 Things I’ve Learnt in 24 Years

1)   Be a writer, not an aspiring one.

2)   Being able to think independently is the greatest privilege, treasure and strength of all.

3)   Don’t just trust your intuitions, utilise them.

4)   Losing friends is inevitable and that is OK. You’ll gain new ones.

5)   Meeting old friends whom you’ve not met for a decade isn’t as scary as you’ve imagined. In fact, it feels amazing meeting those awesome people again.

6)   Holding grudges and not letting go of anger, are extremely destructive weapons that might kill and poison you inside out.

7)   Often times, you can choose your feelings and reactions, the way you can choose how you want to live.

8)   Accepting others’ points of view does not make you a conformist.

9)   You are unique just the way you are. You don’t have to try hard and do weird things to be unique. Just be yourself and you’ll not stop shining.

10)               The reason people love you and the reason people don’t, are usually the same – it’s because you are you.

11)               Wallowing in guilt will not make your guilt go away. To get rid of it, you have to stop making the same mistakes and be willing to evolve.

12)               Flexibility does wonders. It is by being flexible that you’ll eventually work out the best way to be productive. Don’t be afraid of making schedules and then changing them, until you’ve found what works best for you.

13)               Those who suggest that you should exercise, aren’t trying to make your life difficult, quite the contrary.

14)               How much you relax is just as important as how hard you work.

15)               Stay positive when you write. If you are angry, all you will end up doing, is producing distorted, one-dimensional characters.

16)               Challenges can be more fun than hard, if you want them to be. You are in charge of how you see challenges.

17)               You change, so do others. Don’t be too hard on others, just as you don’t want others and yourself, to be too hard on you.

18)               Things that make you angry don’t make you sick, your anger at those things does.

19)               It is important not to grow up, but rather to grow. Growing up signifies an end to learning and improving.

20)               Practise self-affirmation to be more positive and productive. Successful individuals do.

21)               Never let anyone tell you, ‘You can’t do it,’ because when you’ve managed to achieve your goals by ignoring those people, you will always find that those naysayers are mistaken – perhaps not just about you but also themselves! Remember, ‘You can’t do it,’ means ‘I can’t do it.’ It’s projection.

22)               Never hesitate to cut your ties with toxic friends.

23)               The world is corrupt, however, and this bit is important, the world has individuals who care and help one another as well.

24)               Life is difficult, however you can have a love-love relationship with it. When you love life, it loves you back.
